I feel sick every time I read about another person sentenced to death. With sophisticated DNA testing practices, why aren't the courts requiring this when a person's life is at stake, especially someone who's been denying any involvement in the crime from the very beginning? Really, is our quest for vengence so strong that we don't care whether or not the right person has been convicted? That's utter maddness!
You know DNA testing is flawed too. Or more like the nature behind DNA testing. People can have more than one DNA profile. Often associated are hermaphrodites; even more common is intersexualism, such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia. Other people may not have any sexual organ indication. I watched a documentary on cable (forgive me it was some time ago and I cannot recall the source.) A woman was informed that her children were not her own. Until they found the only DNA matching her children was found in thyroid.
